Henan, the core hinterland of Chinese civilization, where every city is a history book. Zhengzhou, a blend of ancient and modern, shines with the collections of Henan Museum, while the Shang Dynasty city wall bears witness to time. Kaifeng, an ancient capital of eight dynasties, continues the prosperity depicted in Along the River During Qingming Festival to this day. Luoyang, having gone through thirteen dynasties, has its history carved in Longmen Grottoes, with peonies blooming in national elegance. Anyang, the hometown of oracle bone inscriptions, sees Yin Ruins tell legends of the Shang Dynasty. Come to Henan, and understand China's millennia of history amid historical sites and splendid scenery.

Arrive in Zhengzhou with international flight.

Be met by the local guide, and transfer directly to Dengfeng.

Visit Shaolin Temple, which is a renowned Buddhist temple with a long history and rich cultural connotations, was built in 495 AD during the 19th year of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, to accommodate the Indian monk Batuo for his preaching and settlement. In the 6th century, Bodhidharma came to China and brought the teachings of Chan Buddhism, making the Shaolin Temple one of the centers of Chan Buddhism.

Then visit Pagoda Forest, it covers an area of approximately 21,000 square meters and consists of about 250 memorial pagodas. Visit local Kongfu school and learn Kongfu for 1hour. Shaolin Kung Fu is one of the most renowned and influential martial arts in the world. Shaolin Kung Fu has its origin in the Shaolin Temple in Songshan Mountain, Henan Province. It was initially developed by Buddhist monks in the temple during their long-term practice of Buddhism and physical training.

Shaolin Zen Music Ritual,also known as “Zen Shaolin · Music Ceremony”, is a large-scale live-action performance that skillfully combines Zen Buddhism music, martial arts, and dance with modern sound and light technologies.

Overnight in Dengfeng.

Drive to Luoyang,

Visit Longmen Grottoes, which is one of the most renowned and precious cultural heritages in China. There are over 2,300 caves and niches, more than 100,000 Buddhist images and over 300,000 characters of inscriptions. It provides valuable physical evidence for studying the history, culture, religion, and art of ancient China, especially during the Northern Wei and Tang dynasties.

Visit White Horse Temple, it was founded in 68 AD during the Eastern Han Dynasty and is the first Buddhist temple in China after Buddhism was introduced into the Central Plains. It is known as the “ancestral court” and “source of Buddhism” in Chinese Buddhism, symbolizing the official introduction of Buddhism into China and the beginning of its spread.

Free time to visit Old Town of Luoyang.

Overnight in Luoyang.

Drive to Wenxian, visit Chenjiagou, also known as Chen Tai Chi Village, is the birthplace of Taijiquan in Chinese martial arts. and learn Taiji for one hour.

Continue to Yuntaishan. This mountain is among the first group from all over the world that received the title of World Geologic Park from UNESCO in 2004. It is also the only famous scenic area in Henan Province having the titles of National 5A Grade Tourist Attraction, National Forest Park, National Geologic Park, National Water Conservancy Scenic Area and National Macaque Natural Reserve.

Visit Yunataishan and overnight.

Visit Mt Yuntai, then drive to Kaifeng.

Visit Millennium City Park. It is a large – scale amusement park featuring the folk – custom culture, folkways, imperial gardens, and ancient entertainment of the Song Dynasty. It restores and reproduces the scenes in the “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” on a 1:1 scale. The park is laid out according to the original layout of the “Along the River During the Qingming Festival”. It centrally showcases on – site production of items such as restaurants, teahouses, pawnshops, Bian embroidery, official porcelain, and New Year paintings in the Song Dynasty. It also gathers folk entertainments, acrobatics, drum performances, as well as activities like fortune – telling, gambling, cock – fighting, and dog – fighting, presenting the amorous feelings of the capital city in the Song Dynasty.

Song Dynasty Dongjing Dreaming Show, Set against the backdrop of Dongjing, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty, the show is a historical re – creation of “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” and “Dream of Splendor in the Eastern Capital”. By applying the artistic conceptions of eight classic ci – poems of the Song Dynasty, such as “Yu Meiren”, “Zui Dongfeng”, “Die Lian Hua”, and “Man Jiang Hong”, it outlines the historical panorama of the Northern Song Dynasty. It showcases the rise and fall of the Song Dynasty, as well as the daily life, social features, and war scenes of that time.Overnight in Kaifeng.

Visit Iron Pagoda, It is called the Iron Pagoda because it is covered with brown glazed bricks all over, looking like being cast by iron from a distance. Since the Yuan Dynasty, people have called it the “Iron Pagoda” . In the Ming Dynasty, the temple was renamed Youguo Temple, so it is also known as Youguo Temple Pagoda. Then, back to Zhengzhou to visit the Henan Provincial Museum. There is a miniature model of an ancient city in the exhibition hall, which vividly shows the scene of ancestors smelting metal, making pottery and polishing bone tools during the Shang Dynasty bronze culture. After that, free time to explore this city by your own. Overnight in Zhengzhou.
