Upon arrival and meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Check in to hotel. Later free to to explore nearby attractions on your own. Overnight stay in Lhasa Hotel.

Breakfast at Hotel. Visit the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street. Overnight stay in Lhasa hotel.

Potala Palace, it is the residence of the Dalai Lama is an immense religious structure and a masterpiece of Tibetan architecture.

Jokhang Temple, Widely revered as the “spiritual heart of Tibet”, Jokhang Temple, built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, promises one of the quintessential Tibetan experiences in Lhasa. With the air filled with a palpable sense of holiness, the entire Buddhist temple acts as the focus of worship and devotion.

Barkhor Street, Barkhor street (sometimes spelled Bakhor Street) is the most famous walking street in Lhasa. It is in the heart of the Old Town – the oldest part of the capital. Barkhor street is the kora route around the 7th century Jokhang temple, therefore, you should walk there in a clockwise direction.

The street is not very long, it only takes 20-30 minutes to walk it. However, you will inevitably make many stops on the way to take photos, watch pilgrims who travel here from all around the country, visit some souvenir shops and take a break in one of the tea houses or restaurants. Many of Tibetans complete this kora doing prostrations.

Drepung Monastry, Drepung Monastery used to be the largest monastery and most powerful monastey in Tibet. It is situated in the western suburb of Lhasa city. As the mother monastery of Dalai Lama, it also played an important role in the development of Tibetan history and Buddhism. Today, this monastery is still as one of the holiest monastery for Buddhist and an influential Buddhist College for monks to study the classic Tibetan Buddhism.

Norbulingka, (Precious stone garden) It is situated in the west suburb of Lhasa, Norbulingka is a precious garden among Tibetans and called the “Summer Palace in Lhasa”. This typical Tibetan park is worth to appreciate the rare nice scenery on plateau and admire particular local palace buildings of over 200 years old.

Tibet Museum, Located at the southeast corner of Norbulingka, Lhasa, Tibet Museum is the first modern museum in Tibet. It covers an area of 53,959 square meters and has a floor space of 23,508 square meters including an exhibition area of 10,451 square meters. Tibet Museum demonstrates a magnificent traditional Tibetan architectural style. Also it reflects a salient feature of modern architectural art.

Morning breakfast at hotel. Check out leave for Tsedand by road (160 Kms/04 Hours). Enroute visit the Yungblakang Palace, Tradruk Temple. Overnight stay in Tsedang Hotel.

Yungblakang Palace, (3,700m), literally meaning ‘mother-son palace’ in Tibetan, is reputed to be the first palace in Tibet history. The magnificent palace demonstrated typical Tibetan style. Lying 12 kilometers southwest of Tsedang, it perches on a small hill, Mount Zhaxi Ceri, east bank of the Yarlung River. ‘Yongbu’ means ‘female deer’ named after the shape of Mount Zhaxi Ceri resembling a female deer, while ‘Lakang’ means ‘sacred palace’. As one of the most ancient establishments in Tibet, this palace, a fortress-like building with many historical relics keeping insides, is a must-see site for those who want to learn Tibet history deeper. Besides its historical value, the view from the palace is beautiful by overlooking the various colors of the surrounding fields and villages in different seasons, which you shouldn’t miss during your visit.

Tradruk Temple, Tradruk Temple also referred to as Changzhu Monastery in Chinese and founded under the king Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century. located at Nêdong County of Shannan region, in Tibet about seven kilometers south of the county seat Tsetang.

It is one of the earliest Buddhist temples and also second of earliest great geomantric temples after the Jokhang in Tibet but some source even consign it earlier than the Jokhang temple and was one of the three royal monasteries as well. The Tradruk Monastery has experienced much damage and often fell into longtime poor condition during its existence and also has undergone many renovations in different historical phases In Tibetan, “Tran” means roc and “druk” means dragon and the monastery acquired its name from the legend that it could only be built after Songtsan Gampo had turned into a roc and subjugated an evil dragon. Tibetan legend tells how this place chosen for Trandruk was enclosed by a large lake with a five-headed dragon. King Songtsen Gampo appeared from a phase of meditation with a power that he was able to call upon a mystical falcon to conquer the dragon and drink the water of the lake, leaving the earth ready for Trandruk which means Falcon-Dragon.

Samye Monastery, full name is Samyé Migyur Lhundrup Tsug la Khang which translates as the “Inconceivable Unchanging and Spontaneously Perfected Temple”. In 766 C.E., the Dharma-king Tri Songdetsen, inspired by the example of the Indian Emperor Gopala I, commissioned Samyé Monastery to be built on the model of the Bihar monastery of Odantapuri.

Yamdroktso Lake, Yamdrok, Yamdroktso or Yamdrok Yumtso, is a breathtaking lake lying between the Tibetan capital, Lhasa, and the town of Gyantse. Yamdrok Lake is viewable along the old Friendship Highway that links Tibet with Nepal, and is a favorite route for those heading to Everest Base Camp. Sitting at an altitude of 4,441 meters above sea level, the lake is 130 kilometers in length and 70 kilometers in wide at its furthest spot. Yamdrok is the largest inland and freshwater lake on the northern Himalayan range with an average depth of 20 to 40 meters, and the deepest point being 60 meters.

Karora Glacier, is one of the most beautiful Glaciers in Tibet. It is located between Lhokha Prefecture and Shigatse Prefecture. Located only within 300 meters from the Highway connecting Lhasa to Gyantse town, make it is the most accessible Glacier in Tibet for international travellers. Most tours, which lead from Lhasa to Gyantse, have a program for a little stopover at the glacier to admire its authentic beauty.

The Karola Glacier sits on the south face of Mt Nojin Kangsang. In the ravines of this mount, over 100 Glaciers are covering over 118.82 square kilometres. Among these, Karola Glacier is the biggest one covering 9.4 square kilometres and reach to 5560 Meters above sea level. The mount Norjin Kangsang is the mount that is visible on the far southwest of Yamdrok Lake.

Breakfast at Hotel. Check out from Hotel and leave for Shigatse by road (95 kms/02 Hours). Enroute visit the Palcho Monastery, outside view the Gyantse Dzong at a distance. Drive to Shigatse. Overnight stay in Shigatse Hotel.

Palcho Monastery, Nestled within a river valley in the town of Gyantse in Shigatse Prefecture, Tibet, the Palcho Monastery represents an unusual intermingling of faiths. Sometimes referred to as the Pelkor Chode Monastery, this venerable place of worship is one of the only monasteries that incorporates teachings from multiple sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Within its walls, you’ll find artwork and scriptures dedicated to the Sakya, Gelug, and Kagyu sects of Tibetan Buddhism.

Gyantse Dzong, also known as Gyantse Fortress, is one the well reserved dzongs in Tibet. It was constructed in 1390 and since guards the southern approaches to the Tsangpo Valley and Lhasa.Local people usually call Gyantse as the ‘Hero City’ for the reason that the determined resistance of Tibetans against far superior forces during the British invasion to Tibet of 1903 and 1904. The invasion was an overpowering slaughter that hundreds of Tibetan people with antiquated matchlock guns and slingshots were killed by British with Maxim machine guns and cannons. One night of May 1904, Tibetan ambushed British army and won a battle. Six months later, British people came back again with more cannons to bomb Gyantse Dzong. In order not to be captured by British army, the Tibetan survivals all jumped from the fortress.

Breakfast at Hotel. Check out and leave for Dinri Zhaxizong town by road (595 kms/ 08 Hours). Outside view the Everest Peak at a distance. Arrive Dimri Zhaxizong and check in to hotel. Overnight stay in Dimri Hotel.

Breakfast at Hotel. Check out and leave Dinri for Sakya-Shigatse by road. Enroute visit the Sakya Monastery. Drive to Shigatse. Overnight stay in Shigatse Hotel.

Morning breakfast at Hotel. Check out and leave Shigatse for Lhasa by road (275 Kms/ 06 Hours). Enroute visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery. Drive to Lhasa. Overnight stay in Lhasa Hotel.

Tashilhunpo Monastery, Sitting on the southern slope of Nyiseri Mountain in the west of Shigatse City, Tashilhunpo Monastery, built in 1447 by Gedun Drupa, the first Dalai Lama, is the largest monastery in Tsang Area as well as the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, Tibet’s second highest incarnation. Meanwhile, it is also one of the Great Six Gelugpa Monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism (another five are Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Ganden Monastery, Kumbum Monastery, and Labrang Monastery).

The highlights for visiting Tashilhunpo Monastery involve exploring unique architectures and historic sites, like Coqen Hall, Chapel of Jampa, 4 Great Dratsangs, 56 Sutra Halls and 64 Kamcuns, etc.; walking the scenic kora around Tashilhunpo with sincere pilgrims to enjoy the stunning vista of the monastery itself and Shigatse City, even Shigatse Dzong (Samdruptse Dzong or small Potala Palace) in far distance; visiting ancient tombs of the fourth and tenth Panchen Lama and the dazzling chortens, which hold the bones and remains of the sacred lamas of Tibet; observing Tashilhunpo Buddhist debate and scripture chanting to get a hint of Tibetan Buddhism and local monk lifestyle. If possible, you can time your trip with 3-day Tashilhunpo Monastery festival to appreciate the three Giant Thangka Buddha (Amitabha Buddha, Sakyamuni Buddha, Maitreya Buddha) exhibited on the platform.

Namtso Lake, Despite the petty grievances, given the up to 6 hours’ drive from Lhasa and the sporadic dizziness one feels when passing the high passes, nothing can stop global travelers from savoring the heavenly view of Namtso Lake(4718m), the highest saline lake on our planet.

Cuddled by imposing Mt Nyenchen Thangla Ranges, Namtso Lake is defined by its surreal beauty. With seagulls hovering above the sparkling sapphire lake, you stroll along the boundless shore of Namtso, gazing at the snowy rolling mountains in the distance. Every so often, a group of prostrating Tibetan pilgrims will pass you by. The mantras chanting, gentle whisper of lake lapping and cave retreats in 5 peninsulas nearby, etc. heighten your awareness of traveling in an earthly heaven.
